One of the more exciting things about the 2027 Silverado is the engine lineup. Most trucks in this class offer V8 options as an upgrade — the Silverado goes further by offering two brand-new ones. Both the 5.7L and 6.6L V8s were built from scratch and assembled right here in the U.S.³ The 6.6L, in particular, is the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 available in its class.⁴ For shoppers who prioritize fuel economy, the returning 3.0L Duramax diesel remains the only diesel offered in this segment.²
